Labels, and which filing you are in

Traditional, simplified, and the third column: what the filing asks. The film can say anything. The back of the box cannot.

A+ prints in traditional Chinese and English because that is the magazine. Your product may not have that luxury. Taiwan and the mainland do not share a cosmetic filing, a food mark, or a plug. A beautiful bilingual carton can still be unsellable.

Show the dieline while it is cheap

  • Show the dieline to the regulatory person before the printer.
  • Do not copy the other side’s mark and hope.
  • Keep claims off the box that you only meant for a caption.

This is not legal advice. It is the reminder to hire the person whose job is the filing. The film’s language and the box’s language are different jobs.
